1. Curso 1 How to speak professionally

The aim of this course is to help our Engineering students to develop and strengthen their abilities to successfully handle the oral language needed in the academic and professional worlds.

Based on audio-visual material, the students will be engaged in a variety of communication activities such as giving talks and presentations concerning academic and professional topics, participating in business meetings, conducting job interviews and role-playing discussions to solve everyday issues at work.

During the course, the students will mainly work on the acquisition of functional language so that they can use it accurately and appropriately, in accordance with the situations they will be encouraged to participate in.

Evaluación

Seguimiento continuo de los alumnos mediante la evaluación formativa de las actividades del curso. Evaluación final escrita con actividades de aplicación de los contenidos del curso.

Criterios de aprobación

• Participación activa en clase y foros

• Entrega del 75% de las actividades de clase

• Aprobación del examen final

Requisitos

Para realizar el curso se sugiere que los participantes posean al menos un nivel B1 de idioma inglés de acuerdo al Marco Común Europeo de Referencia para las lenguas (por ejemplo, B1 Preliminary - Cambridge Assessment English).
